Hint Following are the most common abbreviations used by the ALEPH command language. For a complete list, see Search in the Help.

WRD - Words
WTI - Words in title field
WPE - Words in author field
WVE - Words in publisher field
WSW - Words in subject field
WJA - Year of publication

Hint Lowercase letters will find matches of capitalized words also. For example, principles will find matches for principles, Principles and PRINCIPLES.

Hint Boolean AND is assumed between words. You may use the Boolean operators AND, OR and NOT in your search string. For example, you could type globalisation mondialisationto retrieve all records having globalisation or mondialisation in them.

Hint Use the ? character to find matches that contain portions of words. For example, unif? will retrieve unification, unifying, unificazione, etc. In another example, ?ology will retrieve technology, typology, etc. The ? character may also be used to find variant spellings. For example, harmoni?ation will find both the American spelling, harmonization, and the British spelling, harmonisation.
